Corrections to the Animal Care Annual Research Report Summaries by State 

Animal Care has corrected a discrepancy found in our Annual Reports summarizing the number of animals used in research. We were notified about the discrepancy and determined that there were problems with our data retrieval system.  The system was double counting or failing to count some animals.  Animal Care is committed to providing accurate information and worked to resolve this reporting error as quickly as possible.   

Corrected summary reports for FY 2016 and FY 2017 have been placed on the website.  While the individual Annual Reports have not changed, the summary numbers of species by State went up in some cases and down in others.  We have also posted an accurate State summary for FY 2018. Animal Care is currently reviewing the FY 2019 Annual Reports and will make these available in Spring 2020. The Public Search Tool remains available to access individual annual reports.  We regret any inconvenience this problem may have caused.
