Work Activity Planned for Friday, October 18th (5PM) to Sunday, October 20th (10PM)

Status: New Single Agency Request for DCI

Work to be done: Migrate DCI data to new file server for the Cheyenne Administrative Office. We will begin the migration and cutover to the new server on Friday, October 18th.

Customer Impact: Customer’s data will be offline until the work is complete. The work was requested and authorized by the DCI Director and Deputy Director.

Duration: Friday, October 18, 2013 (5:00 PM) to Sunday, October 20, 2013 (10:00 PM).

Status: New Non-Routine Request

 

Work to be done: Migrate PublicSQL/SPPublicSQL instance data off of the EMC Clarion to new hardware. This will require the PublicSQL/SPPublicSQL instance to be taken offline for the data copy. All applications connected to this instance will be offline.

Customer Impact: This work will affect the following: ETS Public SharePoint Sites, Secretary of State, DOT (MVR and SolarWinds DB), Retirement, Public Service Commission, Business Council, Amber Alert, Livestock Board, Homeland Security, and A&I-HR.

Duration: Work will begin on Saturday, October 19, 2013 (8:00 AM) and conclude Sunday, October 20, 2013 (11:00 PM).

Status: New Non-Routine Request

Work to be done: Migrate the fifth (5th) Floor Hathaway switch stack’s uplink from Hathaway CES to Hathaway 5Ks. This will provide redundancy and higher bandwidth to the 5th Floor switch.

Customer Impact: Users connected to the 5th Floor Hathaway Switch Stack (DFS, SFC, and CCC) will have limited connectivity during the maintenance. This includes wireless users on the 5th Floor Hathaway.

Duration: 1 hour

Status: Single Agency Request for DFS – Previously Approved

Work to be done: Migrate DFS field office router, Rtr-0217, from the Hathaway to EDC2. DFS Offices with MoE connections will be migrated to the DFS VRF on the core 7Ks, and offices with dedicated lines will remain on Rtr-0217. The DFS VRF will still route traffic through the existing DFS ASA firewall. Replace the DFS core switch stack with new 3750X switch stack. Reconnect port-aggregator connection with Twinax to replace CX-4 connectors. Renumber VLANs in accordance with ETS internal network on all DFS used Hathaway switches, including the new Core switch stack and the HP port-aggregator, and the DFS ASAs.

Customer Impact: All DFS office users, including field offices, will have limited to no connectivity during this maintenance window.

Work to be done: Reorder (defragment) the DFHSM control data sets.

Customer Impact: Will not be able to restore data sets from backups during this time. There will be no changes for mainframe users after the work is performed.

Work to be done: Apply all critical Microsoft patches to all Dept. of Education (WDE) servers; and update firmware on Equalogic Storage Arrays.

Customer Impact: All websites, databases, and servers will be unavailable during this work process.

Duration: 4 hours each Thursday from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM. This will become permanently Recurring Work from this date.

 Recurring Weekly Maintenance Work Activities

Customer Impact: ETS managed enterprise customers will not have the services managed by these servers available during this time.

Work to be done: IPL (Initial Program Load) expected duration of 15 minutes or less during the Tuesday 4:00 AM to 6:00 AM work window.

Customer Impact: Affects Mainframe customers during IPL and anyone who needs Mainframe access during this time as the Mainframe will not be available.

Duration: 15-30 minutes

Work to be done: Perform WYDOT database maintenance to include: file reorders, field length changes, adding superdescriptors, renaming or renumbering files, creating a new file, adding a new field, adding descriptors, releasing descriptors, releasing superdescriptors, and restoring natural programs.

Customer Impact: This work has been arranged and scheduled by the customer, and fully coordinated with ETS Mainframe staff and WYDOT IT personnel.

Duration: This work will be performed from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and continue every Saturday through December 28, 2013.

Work to be done: Department of Health patches and/or upgrades to WDH/ETS managed servers.

Customer Impact: This recurring work is a single agency request affecting only the Department of Health (WDH). Servers being patched and/or upgraded will not be available for use during the work periods.

Duration: Every Sunday continuing (as needed) from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Work to be done: Install updates, patches and perform normal maintenance on Dept. of Family Services (DFS) POSSE/WYCAPS.

Customer Impact: Servers and Systems will be unavailable for the duration of the work period. This work affects only DFS.

Duration: This work will occur every third (3rd) weekend through the end of 2013, from 7:00 AM on Saturday until 12:00 PM (Noon) on the following Sunday.

Work to be done: Perform routine patches and firmware updates on Avaya Servers, Media Gateways, and Circuit Packs.

Customer Impact: Installs will interrupt service to devices on the individual gateway or circuit packs for approximately 10 minutes each. Users at 24 X 7 locations will be contacted before commencement of work. 

Duration: 2 hours each Sunday 5:00 AM to 7:00 AM; and each Tuesday 4:00 AM to 6:00 AM.
