We'd Like to Hear From You!
The SUN Bucks program is operating with one-time funding under Executive Order 2026-02 for summer 2026. DFS will be evaluating lessons learned and recommendations in a report to the governor on October 31. Have a comment or story to share? Please complete this short (5-10 minutes) comment form! We value comments from all perspectives - families, nonprofits, retailers, partners, etc. We are unable to respond to comments individually, but will include a summary and anonymous quotes in our final report to the governor.

Replacement Cards
The deadline to order replacement SUN Bucks cards has passed for most cards, which were mailed in early July. SUN Bucks cards are active for 121 days after the original mailing, and replacements can only be sent 3 weeks before expiration so that the benefits have not expired before the cards arrive.
Cards that were mailed later in the summer may still be replaced, depending on the benefit expiration date.
To check when your child’s benefits expire:
- Call 1-877-290-9401
- Enter the card number
- After hearing the balance, press 2
- Select 4 for information on when the benefit was made available.
- Benefits expire after 121 days, or about 4 months, from the date the benefit was made available.
Save Your Card!
Remember to hold onto your SUN Bucks card after you use it. If the program is approved again, benefits may be issued on the same card. If you have already disposed of or lost your SUN Bucks card, don’t worry - we will reissue cards as needed if the program is approved again.
Call Center Closing October 31
The Call Center will close for the summer season on October 31. The last day the call center will be open is Friday, October 30.
Beginning October 31, callers to the SUN Bucks line will hear a recorded message with program information and then be asked to leave a voicemail. Voicemails and emails to the SUN Bucks program will be checked daily. Thank you to our wonderful call center staff, Andrew and Kaitlin, for outstanding support to families this summer!
