SUN Bucks email update for June 22, 2026
The Department of Family Services has officially launched the SUN Bucks program. Please find important dates and contact information in this email. For more information visit the DFS website at dfs.wyo.gov.

This link will take you to a landing page that includes information about the program, the Enrollment Status Checker, and a link to the Online Application Portal.
Dates to know
- Eligibility notices will go out by email and mail this week to children automatically enrolled in SUN Bucks
- SUN Bucks electronic benefit transfer cards will begin mailing to eligible children starting in early July. SUN Bucks cards will be sent weekly throughout the summer to eligible children as applications are processed. Each qualifying child will receive one card with the full amount of $120
- Enrollment date: through August 31. Families can apply for SUN Bucks on the last day, August 31, and, if they are eligible, still receive the card with the full $120 amount
- Cards will be funded for 121 days after the date they were mailed. Then any unspent funds will be returned to USDA

What is SUN Bucks?
SUN Bucks is a federal program to support eligible school-aged children by providing grocery money for the summer months. Governor Mark Gordon directed the Wyoming Department of Family Services to begin program planning with an executive order on April 15. DFS has been working as fast as possible to set up the brand-new program.
