SUN Bucks Cards to Begin Mailing in Early July
Great news! At this time, SUN Bucks electronic benefit transfer cards will begin mailing to eligible children starting in early July.
Remember! Most children will be automatically enrolled in SUN Bucks. If your child already has an approved National School Lunch Program (NSLP) free and reduced meals application, or participates in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Personal Opportunities with Employment Responsibilities (POWER), the Children’s Health Insurance Program (Kid Care CHIP), and/or Medicaid; no additional information or application is needed. For information about automatic enrollment please visit the Frequently Asked Questions section on the SUN Bucks website at this link.
SUN Bucks cards will be sent weekly throughout the summer to eligible children as applications are processed. Children are eligible for the full $120 SUN Bucks food benefit even if they apply on the last day of the eligibility period: August 31. Children automatically enrolled will have the opportunity to opt-out if they prefer.
Please watch dfs.wyo.gov, social media, or this newsletter for upcoming SUN Bucks announcements.
Systems to Support SUN Bucks - And You!
The USDA approved the Plan for Operations and Management (POM), on June 3. The SUN Bucks team is working hard to finalize everything needed to enroll eligible Wyoming children in SUN Bucks. Tools to support families with SUN Bucks enrollment will include an online enrollment checker, an online application portal, and a customer service call center.
As soon as these systems are ready we will share the links on our website, on Facebook and Instagram, and in a special edition of this newsletter. Thank you for your patience as we work to ensure the success and integrity of the SUN Bucks program.
