The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (WDEQ) Underground Injection Control (UIC) Program regulates certain discharges of pollutants into groundwaters of the state. Operators of these discharges are required to receive coverage under a UIC permit. The UIC Program is proposing to extend a groundwater reclassification in the Area of Emplaced Waste for DDW#1R and DDW#2 associated with permit (Permit No. 2013-0057 V2.0 (2023-294)) for Cameco Resources, Gas Hills ISR. These wells are used for the disposal of commercial non-hazardous fluids. The permit applicant is Cameco Resources, P.O. Box 1210, Glenrock, WY 82637. The Gas Hills ISR injection wells are located in Fremont and Natrona Counties, Wyoming. Specific locations of the injection wells are identified in the draft permit renewal in Table 1. An aquifer exemption expansion has been submitted to the USEPA for the Area of Emplaced Waste. The expansion is to increase the already exempted area by 749  feet for DDW#1R and 588 feet for DDW#2.
