Notice of Adoption of Hazardous Waste Rules, Chapter 1, General Provisions
The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality, Solid and Hazardous Waste Division (WDEQ/SHWD) has revised the Hazardous Waste Rules (HWR) Chapter 1, General Provisions. The State of Wyoming, WDEQ/SHWD adopted the new rules to ensure that the HWR are up-to- date with the federal rules as of July 7, 2020. This revision will be the second update of the HWR since the State began to use Incorporation by Reference (IBR) to ensure that its rules are consistent with Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) rules, except where more stringent or broader in scope. The revisions also include EPA recommendations and revisions to clarify and restructure sections in Chapter 1.
The Environmental Quality Council adopted the revised rules at a public hearing at Gillette College, Technical Education Center, Flex Space, 3251 S 4-J, Gillette, Wyoming on February 15, 2022. The final rule was filed with the Wyoming Secretary of State on April 7, 2022.
