Public Notice: Public Meeting for SRF funding for a study of the Moorcroft Landfill

NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

The Town of Moorcroft, Wyoming will conduct a public meeting at 6:30 PM MST, on November 22, 2021, in the Moorcroft Town Hall Conference Room. The purpose of the meeting is to allow citizens to review and comment on the following project. The Town of Moorcroft is planning to do a site investigation and preliminary engineer’s report for a new municipal solid waste cell and C&D cell. This project is to determine the need for a new landfill to replace the existing Moorcroft Landfill No. 3 which is reaching its capacity.

At the meeting, the Town of Moorcroft will present the scope of the proposed project and will discuss the estimated cost of the improvements and the plan for funding the improvements. A preliminary scope of work, cost estimates, and the funding plan can be reviewed at HDR, Inc. 601 Metz Drive, Gillette, WY 82718. Contact Heath Turbiville, PE at (307) 228-6000.

Based on current cost estimates, the Town of Moorcroft plans to borrow $250,000 from the Wyoming Clean Water State Revolving Loan Fund administered by the Wyoming Office of State Lands and Investments. The loan will be paid for using tipping fees at the existing Moorcroft Landfill No. 3. Loan terms will be 2.5% interest rate and 20 years.
