Notice of Proposed Underground Injection Control Permit

The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (WDEQ) Underground Injection Control (UIC) Program regulates certain discharges of pollutants into groundwaters of the state. Operators of these discharges are required to receive coverage under a UIC permit. The purpose of this notification is to inform the public that the UIC Program is proposing the issuance or renewal of a permit (Permit 2021-239) for the Grand Teton National Park Moran Junction Employee Services Septic System. The UIC program proposes to renew the injection well permit for this facility. The permit applicant is Grand Teton National Park, P.O. Drawer 170, Moose, WY 83012. The injection well is located in L1 of the NW¼ Section 26, Township 45 North, Range 114 West, of the 6th Principal Meridian, Teton County, Wyoming.

The public comment period begins September 1, 2021, and ends November 3, 2021. Electronic copies of the proposed permit and relevant application materials are available for review.

During the 30-day public comment period, any interested person may submit written comments on the proposed permit and may request a public hearing be held. Electronic comments may only be submitted through and accepted by the WDEQ comment portal provided at http://wq.wyomingdeq.commentinput.com/. Requests for public hearings must be made in writing and shall indicate the name and full mailing address of the individual requesting a hearing, the interest that individual has in the project, and the grounds for holding a public hearing.

Requests for a contested case hearing on a permit issuance, denial, revocation, termination, or other final department action appealable to the Council, must be made in writing to the Chairman of the Environmental Quality Council and the WDEQ Director at the address above and state the grounds for the request pursuant to the WDEQ Rules of Practice and Procedure.
