Public Notice: Land Quality Division Advisory Board Meeting - August 19, 2021

The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), Land Quality Division (LQD), will hold an Advisory Board (AB) Meeting beginning at 10:00 a.m., on Thursday, August 19, 2021.  The meeting will be held via conference call.  The major item of discussion will be a presentation of revisions to: Coal Chapters 10, Coal Exploration, and 13, Surface Coal Mining Permit Revisions; and Noncoal Chapters 9, Permit Application Requirements for Small Mining Operations and 11, In Situ Mining. The proposed revisions were drafted in response to legislative changes made to Wyoming Statute 35-11-406 made during the 2020 legislative session. Noncoal Chapter 11 was also revised to address comments from the Attorney General’s office, correct several statutory citations, and correct an editing error made during a prior rulemaking. The LQD will be seeking the AB’s advice on whether the proposed rules should proceed to formal rulemaking.
