Public Notice: Revised Public Notice Formats for Coal and Noncoal Mining Applications

Please be advised that the Land Quality Division has published revised Public Notice Formats for Coal and Noncoal permitting actions and operations. The formats were revised to include an option for commenting on-line, and to ensure compliance with revised Wyoming Statute 35-11-406 where necessary. The following Coal Public Notice Formats were revised:

  • Format #02 - Permit or Amendment, Second Publication
  • Format #03 - Permit Renewal, Second Publication
  • Format #04 - Permit Revision, Single Publication
  • Format #05 - Underground Permit or Renewal, Second Publication
  • Format #06 - Underground Renewal, Second Publication
  • Format #07 - Underground Revision, Single Publication
  • Format #08 - Permit Transfer, Single Publication
  • Format #11 - Coal Exploration 250 Tons or More, Single Publication
  • Format #12 - Bond Release, Single Publication

The following Noncoal Public Notice Formats were revised:

  • Format #02 - Permit or Amendment, Second Publication
  • Format #03 - Permit Revision, Single Publication
  • Format #04 - Small Mine Permit or Amendment, Second Publication
  • Format #05 - Conversion of Small Mine Permit to Regular Mine Permit, Second Publication
  • Format #06 - In Situ Mine Permit or Amendment, Second Publication
  • Format #08 - Interim Mine Stabilization, First Renewal
  • Format #09 - Interim Mine Stabilization, Subsequent Renewal
  • Format #10 - Variance, Single Publication

The coal public notice formats may be downloaded at: http://deq.wyoming.gov/lqd/coal/resources/sample-public-notice-formats/ and the noncoal public notice formats can be downloaded at: http://deq.wyoming.gov/lqd/non-coal/resources/sample-publication-format/. Operators should forward the finalized public notices to Craig Hults at the time they are sent to the newspaper for publication with the date of first publication noted in the email. This will allow the LQD to set up the public comment portal.
