Public Notice:

            In accordance with the provisions of the Wyoming Environmental Quality Act and Chapter 1 of the Solid Waste Rules and Regulations, the Glenrock Area Solid Waste Disposal District has submitted a closure permit application for the Glenrock Landfill.

            This facility will cease disposal of solid waste.  The 41.6 acre facility is located approximately one mile north of Glenrock, Wyoming.  More specifically, this facility is located in the NE ¼ NE ¼ and NW ¼ NE ¼ of Section 33 and the NW ¼ NW ¼ of Section 34, T34N, R57W, in Converse County, Wyoming.   

            The Department of Environmental Quality, Solid and Hazardous Waste Division (DEQ) has issued a proposed permit for this facility. Copies of the permit application, the DEQ’s review of the application, and the proposed permit can be viewed at DEQ’s Casper office at 152 North Durbin Street, the Converse County Public Library located in Glenrock, WY (504 4th St, Glenrock WY 82637) and the Converse County Clerk’s office (107 N 5th St. Douglas, WY 82633)

            Any interested person has the right to file written comments, including objections on the proposed permit. The period for providing comments on the proposed permit, shall begin on March 10, 2021 and end on April 16, 2021. Any written comments must be received by 5:00 PM on the last day of the notice period.  Comments must be submitted in writing to the Department of Environmental Quality, Todd Parfitt, Director, 200 West 17th Street, Cheyenne, WY 82002.
