Public Notice:

            In accordance with the provisions of the Wyoming Environmental Quality Act and Chapter 1 of the Solid Waste Rules and Regulations, the Town of Hulett has submitted a closure permit application for the Hulett Landfill.

            This facility has ceased disposal of solid waste.  The 14-acre facility is located Approximately 3 miles south west of Hulett, WY off Highway 24.  More specifically, this facility is located in the SW ¼, NW ¼ and NW ¼, SW ¼ Section 26, and the NE ¼, SE ¼ of Section 27, T54N, R65W, in Crook County, Wyoming.    

            The Department of Environmental Quality, Solid and Hazardous Waste Division (DEQ) has issued a proposed permit for this facility.  Copies of the permit application, the DEQ’s review of the application, and the proposed permit can be viewed at DEQ’s Casper office (152 N. Durbin Street Casper, WY 82601) at the Hulett Public library (401 Sager Ave, Hulett, WY 82720) and the Crook County Clerk’s Office (309 East Cleveland St., Sundance, WY 82729).

            Any interested person has the right to file written comments, including objections on the proposed permit.  The period for providing comments on the proposed permit, shall begin on February 4, 2021 and end on March 15, 2021.  Any written comments must be received by 5:00 PM on the last day of the notice period.  Comments must be submitted in writing to the Department of Environmental Quality, Todd Parfitt, Director, 200 West 17th Street, Cheyenne, WY  82002.
