Public Notice: Land Quality Advisory Board Meeting, October 7, 2020

The Department of Environmental Quality, Land Quality Division (LQD), will hold an Advisory Board Meeting beginning at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, October 7, 2020. The meeting will be held via GoToWebinar. The major items of discussion will be: (1) proposed revisions to the LQD Coal Rules that will address the repurposing of wind turbine blades as backfill at coal mining operations; (2) proposed revisions to the LQD Noncoal Rules, Chapter 5, Exploration by Dozing; and (3) proposed revision to the LQD Noncoal Rules, Chapter 10, Limited Mining Operations. The LQD will be accepting comments on the proposed revisions to the Coal and Noncoal Rules presented in the three rule packages described above.

Proposed draft rule language and a statement of principal reasons for adoption for each rule package will be posted on the LQD’s webpage at http://deq.wyoming.gov/lqd/resources/proposed-rules-regs/ on Thursday, September 10, 2020. Written comments on the proposed rules must be submitted to the LQD no later than the close of business October 6, 2020 by mailing the comments to: Land Quality Division, 200 W. 17th, Suite 10, Cheyenne, Wyoming, 82002 or by accessing the DEQ’s online public comment system at http://lq.wyomingdeq.commentinput.com/.
