Public Notice: Public Meeting for SRF funding for the Sheridan Airport Mains Project

NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

The City of Sheridan, Wyoming (City) will conduct a public meeting on August 18, 2020 at 12:00 P.M., Mountain Daylight Time (MDT), in the Council Chambers of Sheridan City Hall, 55 East Grinnell Plaza, Sheridan, WY. To call in to the public meeting, dial (US) +1 951-638-4747 and enter PIN: 604 623 085#. The purpose of the meeting is to allow citizens to review and comment on the construction of the work proposed in the 16-inch Airport Transmission Main Project.

The project consists of replacing an existing line that has failed in the past, is approaching the end of its life, and is in critical need of replacement. This water supply line connects an existing water supply line in the eastern end of the Big Goose Valley to major service areas at the airport, areas to the south including the State Girl’s School, the entire Little Goose Valley, the Big Horn area, Sheridan College, and southeastern Sheridan.

To fund this project, the City intends to use funds from the Wyoming Drinking Water State Revolving Loan Fund (DWSRF). The City will present the preliminary design of the proposed project at the public meeting and discuss the total project costs, which are estimated to be $4,632,100. Of this total project cost, the City plans to obtain a DWSRF loan in the amount of $765,000, with 25% principal forgiveness, and a 2.5% interest rate for repayment. It is projected that revenues from the Water Enterprise Fund will repay the loan. Sheridan Area Water Supply (SAWS) will contribute $765,000 in funding, and a $3,102,100 Grant has been applied for with the Wyoming Water Development Commission.

The project plan and estimates can be reviewed in the offices of the Engineering Department at City Hall. For questions, please contact Nathan Rager, Project Manager, at (307) 675-4236.

Written comments are also welcome and must be received on or before August 20, 2020 at 5:00 P.M. (MDT). Send written comments to Nathan Rager, Project Manager, City of Sheridan, P.O. Box 848, Sheridan, WY 82801, or via email to nrager@sheridanwy.net.
