Review of Colorado River Water Quality Standards

The seven Colorado River Basin States (AZ, CA, CO, NM, NV, UT and WY) are responsible for reviewing and adopting the salinity water quality standards for the Colorado River Basin. In compliance with the Clean Water Act, the Basin States review these standards every three years through the Colorado River Basin Salinity Control Forum (Forum).

The Forum has recently approved a draft of the 2020 Review, Water Quality Standards for Salinity, Colorado River System (Triennial Review). The 2020 Triennial Review can be found in the “News and Announcements” section of the Forum’s website: http://coloradoriversalinity.org/.

The Forum and each of the Basin States are providing an opportunity for public comments on the Triennial Review. Written comments may be directed to Michael Thomas, 200 West 17th Street, Financial Center 4th Floor, Cheyenne, Wyoming, 82002. Electronic comments may be submitted online at http://wq.wyomingdeq.commentinput.com/. Written and electronic comments will be accepted until 5:00 PM (MST) on August 28, 2020.
