The ACE Rule, promulgated on July 8, 2019, addresses CO2 emissions from existing coal-fired power plants. The ACE Rule provides power plant-specific guidelines for setting standards and compliance requirements that achieve emission reductions. The ACE Rule revises framework rules required in Clean Air Act section 111(d), which pertains to existing sources and requires states to develop state plans. As such, Wyoming must develop a state plan and submit it to EPA by December 31, 2022. This virtual session will include an educational presentation covering more specific parts of the ACE Rule. It will also cover the process of setting performance standards that achieve the requirements of the rule – and other general details pertaining to the rule’s requirements.

The public is invited to attend the virtual session and may provide input on matters pertaining to the ACE Rule following the educational session.  The public may also submit input in writing by June 10, 2020 via mail addressed to Nancy Vehr, Administrator, DEQ/AQD, 200 West 17th Street, Cheyenne, Wyoming, 82002, or faxed to 307-365-1784, or via electronic submittal by filling out the public comment form provided at: http://aq.wyomingdeq.commentinput.com/ Electronic comments that are not submitted through the DEQ comment portal provided above will not be considered or included in the administrative record.  Copies of the agenda, presentation, and final Federal Register publication of the ACE Rule will be available electronically in advance of the meeting at http://deq.wyoming.gov/aqd/resources/ace-rule/.  If you have questions regarding the virtual session, please contact Amber Potts at 307-777-2489.
