Underground Injection Control Permit

The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (WDEQ) Underground Injection Control (UIC) Program regulates certain discharges of pollutants into groundwaters of the state. Operators of these discharges are required to receive coverage under a UIC permit. The purpose of this notice is to inform the public that the UIC Program is proposing the issuance of a permit modification to existing UIC permit 15-081 for Lost Creek ISR, LLC, Class V injection wells M-FG6 and M-FG7. The applicant proposes modifications to the monitoring program for two (2) existing Class V injection wells at the Lost Creek ISR, LLC mine in Sweetwater County. The permit applicant is Mr. John Cash, Lost Creek ISR, LLC, 5880 Enterprise Drive, #200, Casper, WY 82609. The facility is located in NW ¼ SE ¼ of Section 18, Township 25, Range 92 West of the Sixth Principal Meridian, Sweetwater County, WY.

The public comment period begins on June 26, 2019 and ends July 26, 2019, and only the portions of the permit being modified are open to public comment. WDEQ has prepared a supplemental on-line public notice that is available at the WDEQ’s website (http://deq.wyoming.gov/). The website provides electronic access to a copy of the proposed permit. During the thirty (30) day public comment period, any interested person may submit in writing, comments on the draft permit and may request that a public hearing be held. Requests for a public hearing should indicate the name and full mailing address of the individual requesting a hearing, the interest that individual has in the project, and the grounds for holding a public hearing. All written comments and requests received prior to 5:00 P.M., July 26, 2019 in the Cheyenne office will be considered. Comments submitted by email will not be considered.
