Water and Waste Advisory Board Meeting

The Wyoming Water and Waste Advisory Board (WWAB) will meet on June 25, 2019, at 9:00 a.m. in the main conference room at the Wyoming Oil and Gas Conservation Commission Building, 2211 King Boulevard in Casper, Wyoming. The public is invited to attend and comment on proposed rules presented to the WWAB for its consideration. All written and oral comments received beginning on May 17, 2019 and prior to the adjournment of the June 25, 2019 WWAB meeting will be considered. Solid and Hazardous Waste Division and Water Quality Division request submittal of written and electronic comments by 5:00 p.m. (MST) on June 17, 2019 to ensure inclusion in the analysis of comments presentations to the WWAB.

Water Quality Division--Water Quality Division (WQD) will present proposed revisions to Water Quality Rules and Regulations (WQRR) Chapter 3, Regulations for Permit to Construct, Install or Modify Public Water Supplies, Wastewater Facilities, Disposal Systems, Biosolids Management Facilities, Treated Wastewater Reuse Systems and Other Facilities Capable of Causing or Contributing to Pollution. The proposed revisions will exempt Coal Combustion Residual Surface Impoundments from future WQD permit requirements. These requirements will then be administered under new SHWD regulations. At the conclusion of the presentation, WQD will request that the WWAB consider the proposed revisions and make a recommendation of adoption to the Environmental Quality Council. Following the Chapter 3 presentation, WQD will present proposed revisions to WQRR Chapter 24, Class VI Injection Wells and Facilities Underground Injection Control Program. The proposed changes add and clarify passages for consistency with the Code of Federal Regulations in order for WQD to receive primacy of the UIC Class VI program from the Environmental Protection Agency. The proposed changes also correct formatting inconsistencies, capitalization errors, and redundancies. At the conclusion of the presentation, WQD will request that the WWAB consider the proposed revisions and make a recommendation of adoption to the Environmental Quality Council.
