Public Announcement - WDEQ Black Forks Watershed E. coli TMDL Public Meeting

The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) will hold a public meeting for the Blacks Fork Watershed E. coli Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) project from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Uinta County Conservation District’s office at 204 E Sage St, Lyman, Wyoming on Tuesday, October 30, 2018. The purpose of the meeting will be to provide information on the Blacks Fork TMDL project. A TMDL is a plan to attain and maintain water quality standards in waters that are not currently meeting them (i.e., a “Water Quality Improvement Plan”). The TMDL defines by how much pollutant levels need to be reduced to meet water quality standards. The Blacks Fork and Smiths Fork exceed water quality standards for E. coli designed to protect recreational uses. The meeting will include a presentation followed by an opportunity to talk with DEQ and project representatives.
