Notice of Request for a Permit

Pursuant to provisions of the Wyoming Industrial Development Information and Siting Act and Siting Rules and Regulations, Notice is hereby given that Uinta Wind Energy, LLC (Applicant) has filed an Application for a Permit to construct and operate the Uinta Wind Energy Project in Uinta County, Wyoming.  The Applicant proposes to construct the Uinta Wind Energy Project, beginning approximately 4 miles northeast of the City of Evanston, Wyoming along U.S. Highway 189, County Road 103 and Whitney Canyon Haul Road.  The Applicant proposes to construct a wind energy facility to produce up to 161 megawatts of energy.  The project components include up to 47 wind turbine generators (WTGs) mounted on tubular towers, transformers, electrical collector lines, turbine access roads, meteorological towers, an operations and maintenance building, substation, and a 138-kilovolt (kV) generation-tie line, and at least one temporary concrete batch plant onsite during the construction period.  The project is located on 27,907 acres of private and state land in Uinta County.  Construction is anticipated to commence in Q2 2019 and be completed by the end of 2020. Construction manpower is anticipated to peak at 141 workers August through November in 2019 and May through August in 2020.

Public comments concerning potential social, economic, or environmental impacts that may result from the proposed project may be submitted to the Industrial Siting Division on or before August 8, 2018.

 

Notice of Hearing

Pursuant to W. S. 16-3-107, Notice is hereby given that the Wyoming Industrial Siting Council will conduct a contested case hearing on the Application for a Permit for the Uinta Wind Energy Project at 8:30 A.M. on October 4, 2018 at Roundhouse, 1500 Main Street, Evanston WY 82930.  The Council will consider the applicant’s request for a Permit pursuant to the provisions of the Industrial Development Information and Siting Act (W. S. 35-12-101 et. seq.) and the Rules and Regulations adopted thereunder.  Persons eligible pursuant to W. S. 35-12-111 and wishing to participate must notify the Industrial Siting Council in writing by September 14, 2018 and participate in the pre-hearing meeting at 1:30 p.m. on September 18, 2018 at Roundhouse, 1500 Main Street, Evanston WY 82930.   Persons desiring to make a limited appearance statement only may submit a written statement as provided by W. S. 35-12-111(c).  Limited appearance statements must be given to the presiding officer at the hearing.
