Draft Permit – UIC # 17-421- Seminoe Boat Club

Draft Permit – UIC # 17-421- The UIC Program is proposing to issue permit renewal 17-421 for Seminoe Boat Club.  The permit renewal application proposes to authorize the continued operation of ninety-two (92) existing septic systems.  The permit proposes to authorize the continued operation of eighty-nine (89) residential unit leach fields, one (1) campground leach field, one (1) store leach field, and one (1) clubhouse leach field.  The permit also proposes to authorize injection of 15,212 gallons per day (gpd) average and 25,353 gpd maximum during peak use days including the Memorial Day, July Fourth, and Labor Day weekends. For the remaining summer season and off-season, 3,962 gpd average and 6,064 gpd maximum of primary treated domestic waste is permitted for injection into the existing ninety two (92) leachfields.  Discharge will be injected into a quaternary non-water bearing gravel and sand that is underlain by the Lewis Shale Formation and a portion of water-bearing sandstone member contained within, via ninety-two (92) septic tanks and ninety-two (92) leach fields.  Groundwater within the project area is classified as Class I by use according to Wyoming Water Quality Rules and Regulations, Chapter 8.  This classification is made because the groundwater in this formation is being withdrawn for domestic use at seven (7) domestic wells permitted through the Wyoming State Engineer’s Office located within the area of review for this facility.

The permit applicant is the Seminoe Boat Club, PO Box 182, Rawlins, WY 82301.  This facility is located in the SE¼SW¼ of Section 4, and the NE¼NW¼ of Section 9, Township 24 North, Range 84 West, of the 6th Principal Meridian, Carbon County.  The public is invited to comment on this draft permit modification until July 5, 2018.
