Water and Waste Advisory Board Meeting

The Wyoming Water and Waste Advisory Board (WWAB) will meet on June 21, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at the University of Wyoming Biodiversity Institute, Berry Center Room 227, 10th St. and E Lewis St, Laramie, Wyoming. The public is invited to attend and comment on proposed rules presented to the WWAB for its consideration. All written and oral comments received beginning on May 11, 2018 and prior to the adjournment of the June 21, 2018 WWAB meeting will be considered. Water Quality Division and Solid and Hazardous Waste Division request submittal of written and electronic comments by 5:00 p.m. on June 11, 2018 to ensure inclusion in the analysis of comments presentations to the WWAB. Water Quality Division - Beginning at 9:00 a.m. the WWAB will consider proposed revisions to Water Quality Rules and Regulations Chapter 27, Underground Injection Control (UIC) Program. The proposed revisions clarify financial assurance requirements for UIC Class I wells and for Class V, coalbed methane produced water injection facilities. At the conclusion of the presentation, WQD will request that the WWAB consider the proposed revisions and make a recommendation of adoption to the Environmental Quality Council. Solid and Hazardous Waste Division - Following the Water Quality Division presentation, the WWAB will consider, proposed revisions to Hazardous Waste Rules and Regulations (HWRR), Chapter 1, General Provisions. The proposed revisions are an update of Chapter 1, using incorporation by reference of the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 40, “Protection of the Environment” (40 CFR). The proposed changes to the rule detail parts of the 40 CFR rule that have not been adopted by reference. Additionally, the proposed changes to Chapter 1 contain reference revisions, an appendix (Appendix A), which provides a detailed list of the more stringent provisions relative to 40 CFR, and removal of cross-reference tables between previous state rules and federal statutes that no longer apply.
