Shoshone River Watershed Presentations and Field Tour

Willwood Work Group 3 will host a second field tour of the Shoshone River Watershed upstream of Willwood Dam on Tuesday June 5th.  The morning session will include presentations and discussion and the afternoon session will include the field tour.  Please see the information below and please RSVP if you would like to attend!

Morning: Presentations and discussion

Afternoon: Field Tour

Participants will:

Learn about how local, state, and federal agencies and organizations have been working together to identify sources of sediment to the Shoshone River and plan voluntary projects to reduce sediment to the river.

Learn about and see examples of successful sediment reduction projects that have been implemented in the watershed.

Have the opportunity to provide input and be part of finding solutions.

This will be an all-day event (9 am to 4:30 pm) starting at the Heart Mountain Interpretive Center (1539 Rd 19).  Participants are encouraged to attend for the whole day, but are welcome to attend just the morning (9 am – 12 pm) or afternoon (12 pm – 4:30 pm) sessions as well. Please note that we have made arrangements for bus transportation for the afternoon field tour.  Due to space limitations, space on the bus will be limited to the first 50 interested participants.
