Air Quality Awareness Week: Visibility Protection

Air Quality Fact: Wyoming is home to some of the most spectacular natural areas in the country. In 2017, Wyoming had almost 9 million visitors according to the Wyoming Office of Tourism. Understandably, visibility is important when it comes to visiting natural areas. Some of the “haze” in those areas comes from natural sources, such as wildfires, which cannot be avoided and some of it comes from human activity. Fortunately, Wyoming has some of the best visibility conditions in the country!

Resource: Wyoming has current visibility conditions for all of its monitoring locations on WYVISNET at http://www.wyvisnet.com/Sites/Default.aspx. Clicking on any site will show you images that are updated every 15 minutes. These images are also archived for the previous two weeks. Each monitor has a still image of “ideal conditions” that you can use to compare the current conditions.
