Draft Permit – UIC # 17-097 - Yellowstone Valley Inn

Draft Permit – UIC # 17-097 - The UIC Program is proposing to issue permit renewal 17-097 for Yellowstone Valley Inn, owner of the Yellowstone Valley Inn septic systems.  This permit proposes to authorize a maximum permitted injection rate of 20,208 gallons per day (gpd) and an average permitted injection rate of 12,170 gpd.  The waste consists of primary treated domestic sewage from a commercial recreational facility that includes a public restaurant, lounge, and banquet room, including the kitchen, restrooms and office facilities; rental cabins and rooms; recreational vehicle (RV) sites; an RV dump station; a coin-operated laundry; a coin-operated shower facility; a small motel; a private laundry; a small swimming pool; a hot tub; a maintenance shop, and staff living quarters.  Discharge will be injected into the North Fork, Shoshone River unconfined terrace aquifer via thirteen (13) septic tank/leachfield systems.  Groundwater within the project area is classified as Class I by use according to Chapter 8 of the Wyoming Water Quality Rules and Regulations.  This classification is made because the groundwater in this formation is being withdrawn for domestic use at nearby points of withdrawal.

The permit applicant is Yellowstone Valley Inn, 3234 Yellowstone Hwy, Cody, WY 82414.  This facility is located in Section 18, Township 52 North, Range 104 West of the 6th Principal Meridian, Park County.  The public is invited to comment on this draft permit until May 2, 2018.
