Draft Permit – UIC #16-397

The UIC Program is proposing to issue permit #16-397 for Expedition Water Solutions Colorado, LLC, Non-Hazardous Class I injection well, Reed Fee 22-20.  Draft permit #16-397 is a renewal permit that proposes to authorize injection of non-hazardous wastes, including produced water and drilling fluids, into the Minnelusa B and C Sands.  Groundwater within the injection formation is classified as Class VI Groundwater of the State (unusable or unsuitable for use), according to Wyoming Water Quality Rules and Regulations, Chapter 8.  This classification is made because Total Dissolved Solids concentrations in the injection formation are in excess of 23,000 mg/L and the depth of this formation is such that production of water from this formation is not economically or technically practical (WQRR Chapter 8, Section 4(d)(ix)(C).  The permit applicant is Mr. Zachary Neal, 1023 39th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634.  The injection well is located in Section 20, Township 55 North, Range 73 West, of the Sixth Principal Meridian, Campbell County, WY.  The public is invited to comment on this draft permit until November 13, 2017.
