WYOMING DIGITAL LEARNING PLAN

SEPTEMBER 2020

Welcome to the Digital Learning Plan (DLP) monthly newsletter

This newsletter will explore the Wyoming DLP, its goals, and suggested strategies to ensure equitable access to opportunities and success in postsecondary, career, and civic life.

DIGITAL LEARNING PLAN IMPLEMENTATION

Data and Privacy

This month’s initiatives are focused around the DLP Future Ready Framework. The goals of the Data and Privacy gear are:

Data and Privacy Gear
  • Student and educator data will be protected with privacy maintained in accordance with state and federal mandates.
  • All teachers will use assessment data that enables them to personalize instruction to increase student achievement.
  • All students will use data to understand their progression through the learning standards.

WyEd-Fi

The WyEd-Fi product aggregates various student data in a near real-time manner to provide a fuller view of a student’s, or a student population’s performance. Categories of data include: Attendance, Grades, State & Local Assessments (WY-TOPP, NWEA MAP, FastBridge, and others), Growth, and more. The goal is to more fully evaluate a student’s, or a student population’s, needs during the current timeframe to provide information in the present to effect change in the current school cycle and into the future. View this video for a brief overview of WyEd-Fi.

Training (New)

WyEd-Fi has a new online professional development training course for teachers with 0.5 Professional Teaching Standards Board (PTSB) credit available. Sign-up for the free, self-paced Canvas course or schedule a live one-hour virtual training session by contacting Jeremy Thigpen at jthigpen@espg.com.

Local Assessments (New)

Local Assessment data has been included on the dashboard so districts can now view that data along with the state assessment data for evaluation of a student’s performance.

The student’s standard growth data plus the newly deployed Growth MGP data (shown here) can now easily provide visual trends of student growth, school growth, and district growth. This allows for a better understanding of performance.
