Survey Responses Due by June 9, 2020

WDE is collecting educator input on the Computer Science Standards in the linked survey. This feedback will be used by the Computer Science Standards Review Committee (CSSRC) when determining the content standards that should be tied to performance for all students in each grade band.

Content Standards are what students should know and be able to do and Performance Standards are how well they should demonstrate that understanding. Performance Standards will be tied to the Content Standards on which districts are expected to assess all students through the district assessment system.

The 2019 Computer Science Content Standards were approved on February 4, 2020. On May 22, the State Board of Education (SBE) requested WDE to reconvene a subcommittee of the CSSRC to identify a small subset of benchmarks as performance standards and craft specific language for those performance standards to be recommended to the SBE for consideration. Your feedback will give the committee guidance on these determinations.
