ACCESS FOR ELLS WRITING BIAS, SENSITIVITY, AND CONTENT (BSC) REVIEW

raised hands

Seeking Wyoming Educators

The WIDA Assessment team is looking for educators to participate in the Bias, Sensitivity, and Content (BSC) Review of the new ACCESS for ELLs Writing test content. The purpose of this review is to ensure that test item content is grade-level appropriate and factually accurate, as well as free of material that might favor any subgroup of students over another on the basis of gender, race or ethnicity, home language, religion, culture, region, or socio-economic status. This review also helps ensure that test items are free of material that might be upsetting to students. These reviews are conducted during online meetings the week of November 18, 2019, so no travel is necessary to participate.

WIDA asks educators interested in participating to complete a short survey.

Educator Feedback for the WY-TOPP Science 2021+ Blueprint

WY-TOPP logo
Survey Closing December 22, 2019
The Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) would like to gather feedback from all Wyoming science educators to determine which Benchmarks/Performance Expectations (PEs) should be used for the WY-TOPP Science 2021+ and beyond assessments.  Wyoming state statute requires assessing students on the Science Standards in grades 4, 8, and 10. Over the past two years, WDE has had many educator committees weigh in on which Benchmarks/PEs should be used to assess Wyoming students. The 4th grade WY-TOPP science test will cover grade 4 PE's exclusively. The 8th grade test will cover content from the Middle School PEs (grades 6-8). The 10th grade test will cover content from the High School PE's (grades 9-12), focusing on what all students should be exposed to during the first two years in high school.
