Legislation requiring the Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) to produce Student Growth Reports and school districts to distribute them was repealed. The WDE believes these reports provide helpful information for educators and parents. If your school/district would find the student growth reports helpful, contact Susan Williams at susan.williams@wyo.gov and the WDE will securely provide them.
For districts that participate in the WyEd-Fi, the WDE is working with ESP Solutions Group to provide the reports through the dashboard later this year.
Placed students will now be visible for district users to see in TIDE. A student that is placed in an accredited institution in the state of Wyoming is required to be tested by the institution. School districts will now be able to see their placed students in TIDE, and the institution will be responsible for testing the student during the Summative WY-TOPP testing window. For more information about WY-TOPP testing, contact Jessica Steinbrenner at jessica.steinbrenner@wyo.gov.
Due to a request from WDE for PowerSchool to include the Full Time Equivalency (FTE) value on student enrollment records as well as district calendar summary and date objects in what is provided by district agents to the WDE via SIF during the 2019-20 school year PowerSchool has released a version 2.6.0.27 of its State Messaging Plugin from Wyoming. Hosted PowerSchool districts were automatically upgraded. Non-hosted districts should request an upgrade from their provider or perform the upgrade themselves. The added elements will help the WDE in its ongoing effort to automate the Attendance and Membership collection (i.e. the WDE600) as well as make decisions about students with multiple enrollments around the state. For more information, contact John Paul at john.paul@wyo.gov.
