TECHNOLOGY COORDINATOR RESOURCES FOR WY-TOPP AND WY-ALT

New technology quick guides have been created for the 2018-19 online administration. These guides contain information for configurations, troubleshooting, and installation of the Secure Browser. The new available resources include:


WY-ALT PAPER RESPONSE ORDER WINDOW

Paper response options order window is January 21 - February 4, 2019

If you have a student who participates in the WY-ALT assessment and needs paper response options, please flag the student as a "Paper Tester" in TIDE. Building Coordinators will need to order paper-accommodated test materials in TIDE during the ordering window.


ACCESS AND ALTERNATE ACCESS FOR ELLS TEST MATERIALS

Materials will be delivered on January 7, 2019

Materials will be shipped to the address listed in WIDA AMS Material Ordering. Choose the correct Administration & District filters, but set the School filter to “All.” All materials shipped are secure and must be signed for upon delivery. Notify staff that a secure testing shipment will be arriving on this date.

MATERIAL INVENTORY: The district/school will receive the following information in its shipment. These materials are used to inventory materials received for testing. Every school or district will have the responsibility to complete a Security Checklist to verify the secure materials against the checklist.

  • Test Materials: Test materials shipped to the district or school.
  • Packing List: Lists all materials shipped to the district or school.
  • Secure Checklist: Lists all secure materials shipped to the district or school (with barcode ranges).
  • School Box Range Sheet: For district sites, the School Box Range Sheet will identify the number of boxes packaged for each school and district. For school sites, the school Box Range Sheet will identify the total number of boxes shipped to the school.

ACCOUNTABILITY FORM: Any discrepancies found in the secure materials should be noted on the Accountability Form. To complete the form, log in to WIDA AMS and go to Materials > Accountability Form and select the school with the material discrepancy. At the bottom of the list of materials, there is a space labeled, "Record reasons for discrepancies here:" Record the secure barcode of the material and list the discrepancy.


ACCESS FOR ELLS ADDITIONAL MATERIALS ORDERING WINDOW

Additional materials ordering window is January 7 - February 19

The additional materials ordering window for ACCESS and Alternate ACCESS for ELLs will be available from January 7, 2019 through February 19, 2019. During this time, you may order additional testing materials needed via the WIDA AMS Additional Materials functionality.

  • Your initial shipment of test materials include extra copies to ensure that additional orders will rarely be required. These materials must be used before any orders for additional materials may be placed.
  • Test Administrators who need additional materials must consult and get approval from the District Test Coordinator to determine whether the district has the material on hand or whether an order for additional materials is necessary.
  • With the exception of a few large metropolitan areas, orders for additional materials may be placed by District Test Coordinators only.

For assistance with ordering additional materials, view the Additional Materials Ordering tutorial posted in the ACCESS for ELLs training course on the WIDA Secure Portal. You may access the training course by selecting either Paper Based Training or Online Training course. From there, click on the 'Preparing Tab' and scroll down until you get to the Additional Materials Orders Tutorial button.

ORDERING INSTRUCTIONS

  • To order additional materials, log in to WIDA AMS and select Materials > Additional
    Materials along the top navigation menu.
  • Once on the Additional Materials page, select the correct Administration, District, and the
    District-Level Additional Orders Only Site. The Add Order button will activate once the
    district-level ordering site is selected.
  • Once the order is complete, click Submit.

ACCESS FOR ELLs DISTRICT/BUILDING TEST COORDINATOR & ONLINE TEST COORDINATOR TRAINING

January 14, 2019 in Cheyenne

Audience: District Test Coordinators, Building EL Coordinators, Test Administrators/Coordinators, Principals & anyone interested

During the morning session, participants will learn: 

  • ordering and distributing materials; 
  • setting up testing schedules; 
  • monitoring test administrator certifications.

During the afternoon session, test administrators will explore how the WIDA Standards and Assessment System is connected to the ACCESS for ELLs Online. 

Participants will: 

  • Learn to administer the online test to students;
  • Access sample items and the WIDA Assessment Management System;
  • Identify the purpose of the WIDA Accessibility and Accommodations Framework;
  • Explain the technology basics for ACCESS for ELLs;
  • Describe the administrative functions of test coordination in WIDA AMS;
  • Explain scheduling, test administration monitoring and materials management;
  • Discuss the features of each of the different ACCESS for ELLs suite of assessments; 
  • Identify the different aspects of paper test administration such as domain test details;
  • Explain the procedure for scoring the speaking test.

(Participants may attend a half-day of training, but are encouraged to attend the full day.)

ACCESS FOR ELLS 2.0 WRITING FIELD TEST

WIDA is seeking Wyoming educators and students who are interested in participating in the ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 Writing field test. This is an excellent opportunity for students and administrators to practice for ACCESS for ELLs 2.0. 

This field test gives students and administrators practice and preparation for testing.

  • Testing time will be about 20-30 minutes and participating campuses will receive a small stipend for school supplies.
  • Students in grades 1-3 may test November 14, 2018 through February 15, 2019. (All students in grades 1-3 will hand write their responses)
  • The window for grades 4-12 is December 3, 2018 through March 1, 2019. (All students in grades 4-12 will keyboard their responses)

The field test may be administered before or after a student completes their operational testing.
