AIRWays AUTHORING TOOL BETA PILOT

Build your own Formative Assessments
School interest survey to beta pilot - Limited to 1500 WY students
Survey closes at 4:00 p.m. on July 2, 2018

AIR is beta testing their AIRWays Authoring Tool during the fall semester of the upcoming school year (2018-19), which would allow teachers to create their own online classroom assessments and access immediate student results in AIRWays. Just like with our WY-TOPP Interim and Modular Assessments, teachers will be able to see real student responses and pinpoint areas for improvement. With this tool, teachers can create their own items and tests by using AIRWays easy-to-use item templates. The Item Panel allows teachers to create their own innovative, technology-enhanced items, including the following item types: hot text items, drag-and-drop items, table match items, etc.

Wyoming has been given 1500 student slots for this beta pilot. This survey is intended to find interested teachers to participate with their classrooms. Teachers of any content area can participate in this pilot.

Participants are asked to provide regular feedback throughout the pilot to guide further development of the tool through the following: 1) complete 2 participant surveys (Sept. - Dec.); 2) participate in up to 2 virtual focus groups; and 3) complete an open-ended questionnaire.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The AIRWays Authoring Tool Interest Survey will close at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, July 2, 2018, and notification will be emailed out by Friday, July 6th.

*Please note: This tool will not be available to other schools and districts until the next school year (2019-2020), dependent upon the outcome of the beta testing. Once this system is fully implemented, teachers will be able to collaborate with others to share tests or test items with teachers across the district.

INDIVIDUAL ENGLISH LEARNER PLAN (IELP) FORM

Children on a globe

The Individual English Learner Plan template was initially shared during the May 24 EL and Title III Quarterly Webinar. WDE stated that we would provide more information on areas that might be required versus best practices that could be used at districts discretion. For assessment purposes, IELP teams must ensure that any supports that the student receives during statewide assessments are appropriately documented. Follow this link to an optional IELP form that districts may use to document student supports, goals, meetings, interventions, etc. The information in Section 5 of the form is required for assessment administration. Documentation may be stored electronically or on paper. If a district currently has a process/form in place, it may continue to use it as long as the same information, as required in Section 5 of the WDE template, is collected.

The IELP form is also located on the WDE Website under: For Educators > Content & Performance Standards > English Learners > Resources.
