August 8-9, 2018 at St Stephens Indian School
Students grades 7-12 are invited to the 9th annual Native American Education Conference to enjoy outdoor activities such as archery, rafting, fly fishing and wilderness skills training. Indoor workshops will also be offered to encourage youth leadership and healthy lifestyles. Registration for students is free.

With the assistance of MetaMetrics, the Wyoming Department of Education is encouraging students to access free online tools designed to promote reading and maintain math skills during the summer break.
The summer learning initiative includes resources for summer reading and the Summer Math Challenge, a six-week email-based math maintenance program for students and their parents provided at no cost.

A Jean Kennedy Smith Arts and Disability Program
The VSA Emerging Young Artists Program acknowledges and supports the wonderful artistry of students with disabilities. The theme of the art competition this year is “Detour.” Deadline for submissions is May 31, 2018. Fifteen winners will be selected and share case awards.

Students ages 16-25 are encouraged to submit artwork that describes their vision of undergoing a new journey. Applications are now being accepted.

Students in grades 1-6 have the opportunity to earn a free book from Barnes & Noble. Students will need to read eight books and keep a journal describing their favorite part for each book. Completed journal entries may be brought to a local Barnes & Noble store.

SYNC is a free summer audiobook program for teens 14 and older. For about 12 weeks, SYNC will provide two free audiobook downloads each week.
The purpose of the program is to expand and enhance students’ reading experience over the summer months.

High school girls with a passion for solving problems and willingness to use their engineering design skills to inspire younger students are encouraged to become EngineerGirl Ambassadors. Those chosen will receive training and support from the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) in collaboration with the Society of Women Engineers (SWE).

July 15-21, 2018 in Green Bank, West Virginia
Physics Inspiring the Next Generation (PING) is a STEM summer camp program that seeks to increase the diversity of the next generation of scientists, engineers, and technologists. The weeklong program will be held on the campus of Green Bank Observatory.

Students will work with an observatory staff scientist to conduct research by observing the universe with a 40-foot diameter radio telescope.
July 30-August 2, 2018 in Newcastle
The Wyoming Youth Summit invites 7th through 12th graders to experience youth-driven workshops and outdoor activities designed to empower them to form a statewide peer-to-peer network committed to making positive change in their communities.
Cost is $25 per student, which includes meals and accommodations. Sponsors are Students Against Destructive Decisions and the Wyoming Association of Sheriffs and Chiefs of Police.

Teens aged 15-18 can learn how agents discover evidence at crime scenes and conduct investigations. The FBI is offering two teen academies in Denver on June 13, 2018 and Aug. 3, 2018. Sophomores, juniors and seniors in fall 2018 are eligible to apply.

Students will receive classroom training and be exposed to programs such as hazmat, evidence recovery, fingerprinting, white collar crimes, terrorism, undercover operations, cyber-security, intelligence gathering, SWAT, and more.
