2016-2017 ACT Results

All districts will receive ACT results by July 28.

ACT Aspire: Returning Materials

The ACT Aspire window closed on May 3, 2017. WDE and ACT Aspire would like to thank you for your hard work in administering ACT Aspire this year and also provide courtesy reminder about returning paper test materials.

If your school administered the paper version of ACT Aspire, please ensure that the materials are returned as soon as you have completed testing. This will ensure that your student’s tests are processed and scored. Paper answer documents will not be scored if received after May 12, 2017

For detailed instructions on packing and returning materials, please refer to page 19-23 of the Test Coordinator Manual. You will need to contact UPS at 800-823-7459 to scheduled your free pickup 24-48 hours in advance.

For general administration support, please continue to contact ACT Aspire Customer Service at 888.802.7502.

Preparing for the New State Assessment System

TECH READINESS SURVEY

Friday, April 28, a Superintendent's Memo was sent to your district superintendent outlining the need to collect information at the school level on Tech Readiness for the New Online Assessments. If you are a District Tech Director, Principal, Assessment Director, or Curriculum Director you were given access to a Google Sheet. Tech Directors have editing rights to the document. Please complete the spreadsheet and survey by June 1.

If you have any concerns or issues with these documents, contact Jessica Steinbrenner, Assessment Supervisor, at 307-777-8568 or jessica.steinbrenner@wyo.gov or Laurie Hernandez, Director of Standards & Assessment, at 307-777-3469laurie.hernandez@wyo.gov.

ACCESS Score Reports

District, school, and individual ACCESS 2.0 and Alternate ACCESS score reports were released on May 2. Parent guides in several languages and many other resources are available on the ACCESS 2.0 Scores and Reports page and the ALTERNATE ACCESS Scores and Reports page. Please note that score reports are now completely unified, even for Kindergarten, and there are no longer separate versions of the reports for parents and educators. Additionally, Kindergartners will no longer receive separate "accountability" and "instructional" proficiency levels, but will instead receive one set of proficiency levels just as the other grades do.

As a reminder, the exit criteria for ELs have changed for this school year. Any student K-12 with a composite proficiency level of 4.6 or higher will be exited from EL services and will enter into their two-year monitoring period. For more information on this change and other important changes such as next school year's transition to the WIDA Screener and common questions concerning Monitoring Years 3 and 4 for former ELs, please see the recently published Important Notice on Changes Related to ELs. The recording of the online Q&A session from May 1st can be accessed here.

If you have any questions concerning ACCESS 2.0, Alternate ACCESS, or the recent changes concerning ELs, please contact EL / Foreign Language consultant Will Woods.
