ACT ASPIRE REPORT TRAINING

In late August and early September, ACT Aspire will provide training sessions on the scoring process of the ACT Aspire assessment and information about how to access the Summative Reports in the ACT Aspire portal.

This training is recommended for Administrators, Test Coordinators, or other roles that have the ability to access the Summative Reports.

Specific topics will include:

  • Individual Student Report (ISR)
  • Student Performance File (SPF)
  • Subject and Skill Proficiency reports
  • Dynamic Teacher / Group reports

Dates and Times:

ACT PROFILE SUMMARY REPORTS SHIPPED

ACT has shipped state-, district-, and school-level Profile Summary Reports; they will begin arriving in schools on Monday, August 1. In addition to these reports, districts and schools should watch for their non-college-reportable score letters. These letters indicate the scores for any students with state-allowed accommodations (rather than ACT allowed accommodations). All other ACT reportable scores were sent earlier this summer.

ACT, ACT ASPIRE, AND WY-ALT CONFIDENTIAL RELEASE

WDE is pleased to announce the confidential release of individual, student-level results for the 2016 high school assessments (ACT Plus Writing, Aspire, and Wy-ALT). Districts will be given until Friday, August 5 to confidentially review the reports. District Superintendents are asked to verify online that they have received and reviewed the data at: https://portals.edu.wyoming.gov/Confirm/View/2016ACT.

Once the review window is over, and corrections have been approved, the aggregated results will be calculated and confidentially released to districts at least 24 hours prior to the public release.

The public release is scheduled for August 15 at 1:00 pm. All results are embargoed until the aggregated statewide results are released publicly, so summary results cannot be shared with local media until August 15.

PAWS DOMAIN REPORTS ARE NOW AVAILABLE

We are happy to announce that the PAWS Domain Reports have been re-formatted to promote ease of use/interpretation by school staff.  Now updated with data from the spring of 2016, the reports present three years of school and state means by grade, subject, and domain.  The last three columns display the differences in scale scores between the school and the state.  Use the differences to gauge progress within domains over time.  If you have questions on how to interpret these data, please give us a call!

2017 NAEP ASSESSMENT DATES: PRINCIPALS, PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

naep wyoming

Notification letters to elementary and middle school principals specifying the 2017 National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) testing day at their building(s) were sent via regular mail on July 25th and principals will be receiving electronic copies via email shortly.

Principals are asked to please immediately mark their school’s 2017 NAEP date on their school’s calendar, and if needed contact Will Donkersgoed as soon as possible at william.donkersgoed@wyo.gov or (307) 777-5133 re: any scheduling conflicts or date change requests.

As a reminder, the 2017 NAEP window opens Monday January 30, 2017 and runs through Friday March 10, 2017. Earlier in June, State Superintendent Balow notified district superintendents and assessment directors about the 2017 NAEP program and schools in their district selected for the assessment.

As a heads-up, additional information for registering schools online will be sent to principals in early August….and please stay tuned to the WDE Assessment Newsletter for additional details re: 2017 NAEP in Wyoming.  Thank you!
