$10.7 Million Dollar Winning Megabucks Ticket Sold in Merrillan
Saturday's winning ticket claimed by Merrillan man

MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin Lottery's Wisconsin-only lotto game Megabucks had a mega winner on Saturday night. A winning ticket worth $10.7 million annuity, $9.4 million cash, was sold by Double T Quik Stop (302 N Washington Street) in Merrillan, Jackson County.

The winning ticket was claimed by Richard Kondell II, of Merrillan. Kondell doesn't have plans for his winnings yet but says instead of calling in sick, he is "going to call in rich to work."

"Congratulations to Richard and to the retailer Double T!" said Wisconsin Lottery Director Cindy Polzin. "This is a huge Megabucks win that has put Merrillan on the WINsconsin map."

Wisconsin Lottery retailers who sell winning tickets over $599 receive a 2 percent incentive up to $100,000. Double T will receive $100,000 for selling the ticket. "We're excited to have had this happen in our community and store," said Double T manager Nadine Matoska. "Congratulations Richard from our ProVision Partners family!"

Since the Megabucks game launched in 1992, only 7.8% of draws—specifically 227 of 2,907 draws—have had a jackpot higher than $10.7 Million.

The odds of winning the Megabucks jackpot are 1 in 6,991,908. Megabucks drawings are Wednesday and Saturday. Each set of two plays cost $1 per draw. Tickets must be purchased before 9 p.m. on Wednesday and Saturday to be included in that day's drawing.
