Construction Divisions of Work

We have added a new Search option in the Database of Certified Suppliers – Construction Divisions of Work. Prime Contractors, private businesses, government entities, etc. can now search for businesses in the Construction Industry by the Divisions of Work the State uses. If your business is in the Construction Industry, please email SupplierDiversity@wi.gov your Division of Work Codes by August 31st (see options below), and we will add them to your account. We want to be sure Contractors can find you!

National Black Business Month

black

August is #NationalBlackBusinessMonth! In 2004 historian John William Templeton and engineer Frederick E. Jordan Sr. created National Black Business Month to bring attention to the needs of the more than 2 million Black-owned businesses in the US.  During the month of August, local government officials, community leaders, and venture capitalists are encouraged to find ways to support growth for the now 3.1 million black-owned businesses in the United States. Wisconsin Supplier Diversity encourages you to support local black-owned businesses and our certified suppliers this month and beyond.

Be Aware of Ransomware!

cyber

Our information sharing on Cyber Security continues this month with Ransomware. Ransomware typically begins with an email to an employee that prompts them to click a link or open attachment that will download software to their device, unbeknownst to them. The software exposes sensitive company data, and the company could be at risk. Be sure you and your employees are aware of the threat of Ransomware, how it works and how to protect your business.
