Foxconn Statement on the Election of Tony Evers
Foxconn Technology Group this week issued the following statement on the election of Tony Evers as Governor of the State of Wisconsin:

Wisconsin Companies Showcased at China International Import Expo
Foxconn and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) partnered to showcase ten Wisconsin companies at the first China International Import Expo (CIIE). CIIE is a major global business development initiative in Shanghai and the Wisconsin firms were featured as part of Foxconn's Innovation Pavilion related to its “Smart Future” theme.
The Wisconsin companies were showcased for their specialties in water technology, advanced machinery, healthcare, and smart city applications. The companies that attended CIIE as exhibitors at the Foxconn Innovation Pavilion are:
- BioGill – With U.S. operations based in The Global Water Center in Milwaukee, BioGill manufactures innovative above-ground bioreactors that are a net energy neutral biological treatment technology used to remove organic pollutants from wastewater.
- BiologiQ – A Brookfield-based bioplastic resin manufacturing company with a wide range of consumer product applications.
- Black Rock Custom Stone Cutting – Based in Athens (near Wausau), Black Rock Custom Stone Cutting produces Wisconsin jade stone products for commercial and resident applications, such as tile, sinks, countertops, decorations.
- Dynex Hydraulics – A Pewaukee-based manufacturer of hydraulic components and systems for use on mobile and industrial machinery.
- Hong Seng Inc.— A newly-established, world-class American ginseng brand based in the Wausau/Marathon County area of northern Wisconsin. Hong Seng Inc. is the result of a strategic cooperation between Foxconn Health Technology Business Group, Ginseng Board of Wisconsin, and Hsu’s Ginseng.
- Inpro Corporation – Based in Muskego, InPro is a provider of architectural products that protect buildings, including door and wall protection, sustainable building products, expansion joint systems and decorative surface products.
- Roving Blue Inc. – Based in Lena (near Green Bay), Roving Blue manufactures advanced, portable water purification systems that harness the power of ozone for use around the world.
- SDMC America Technology – Based in St. Croix County in western Wisconsin, SMDC designs, manufactures and sells material handling equipment to handle non-free flowable material, such as solid waste, biosolids and organic waste.
- STAR Water LLC – With U.S. operations based in The Global Water Center in Milwaukee, STAR Water targets urban, industrial, agricultural and mining run off by removing contaminants such as nutrients, heavy metals and toxic compounds while protecting lakes, river and oceans.

Velicon – Based in Oak Creek, Velicon designs, manufacturers and markets high-performance electric motors used mainly in testing applications that include power and speed testing of automotive engines and aerospace engines and turbines.

Veteran Recruitment Efforts in Wisconsin
The Wisconn Valley project is not only a win for Wisconsin, but it also represents an incredible opportunity for military veterans.
Led by Foxconn Technology Group’s commitment, the project will lean heavily on Wisconsin’s workforce. Officials from the company have made it clear that they intend on having a large percentage of those employees being military veterans, and they’ve since doubled-down on that promise. In June, Foxconn officials said they aim to hire 3,000 veterans, and the company’s first two hires in Wisconsin are veterans — one a former Navy pilot and the other a former Army planner.
An emphasis is being placed on hiring veterans because many come already equipped for the job. There’s an incredible sense of leadership, the ability to work as both a team leader and a team member, the aptitude of working under pressure and meeting deadlines, a strong commitment to working safely, and so much more.
It’s because of those reasons that in August, Wisconsin launched a campaign aimed at transitioning service members and their spouses called Mission Wisconsin. Dubbed Team Wisconsin, representatives from the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, the Department of Workforce Development and the Department of Tourism are traveling around the nation to market Wisconsin. A focal point of that campaign has been the diverse job market in Wisconsin that includes the Wisconn Valley project.
The value of Team Wisconsin’s initiative extends far beyond just Foxconn, though. It also raises awareness that Wisconsin has the third fastest growing tech sector in the country. Through Team Wisconsin, transitioning veterans are being informed that from Racine County to Douglas County and everywhere in between, Wisconsin is an economically growing state with a great quality of life, leading benefits offered to veterans, and incredible career opportunities.
Road Updates
Roadwork update
I-94 North-South freeway crews recently completed all new bridge decks between WIS 142 to WIS 20 in Kenosha and Racine counties. In November, crews will focus on paving the new northbound lanes, finishing bridge approaches and placing barrier wall. Motorists should be alert for overnight freeway and ramp closures on I-94 WEST (NB) in various locations between Ryan Road and College Avenue in Milwaukee County. Crews are installing 33 storm sewer crossings in three weeks. Visit the weekly construction forecast for more.
Ask WisDOT: Winter is coming, how does that affect roadway projects?
WisDOT has plenty of experience managing projects during challenging Wisconsin winters. Plans are in place to handle winter weather events in a timely and efficient manner. It is still imperative that everyone drives appropriately for the weather conditions and be alert, especially in work zones.
