Road Updates

Roads

Work is underway on the International Drive development road project. The project will construct a four-lane urban roadway linking the existing roadway with WIS 11. The project is set for completion in late 2019. The roadway will be a concrete paved surface with a median. A new box culvert will be constructed at Hoods Creek as a part of this project. Once all work is complete, the roadway will serve as an additional north-south connection between WIS 11 and WIS 20. All work is weather dependent.

Work has also started on Braun Road between the East Frontage Road and County H. The roadway will be a concrete paved surface with a median and multi-use paths included in the design. The multi-use paths will be constructed under a future project.  A new box culvert will be constructed at the Kilbourn Road ditch as a part of this project. Once all work is complete, the roadway will serve as an east-west connection serving Wisconn Valley Way. All work is weather dependent. Only local construction traffic will be allowed on Braun Road during construction.

Willow Road construction is progressing. This one-half mile extension of Willow Road will create a new north-south roadway connection between Braun Road and WIS 11 on the east side of the Village of Mount Pleasant.

Construction crews working on the intersection at County KR and the East Frontage Road were able to finish work ahead of time and reopen the access to eastbound County KR. County KR remains closed to I-94 North-South as work continues on the new northbound structure on I-94.

Work is picking up along I-94 North-South. Kraut Road, between the Frontage Roads, is now closed to traffic until mid-December to allow for the new northbound structure to be constructed. Demolition of the old structure will be completed this week. Golf Road will be closed short term to allow for the demolition of the northbound structure. This work is expected to be completed by Monday with the roadway opened back up to traffic on Wednesday, August 8, weather permitting. Once Golf Road is reopened, County K will have a 50-day closure which will begin in August and will allow for the construction of the new bridge structure.

Supply Chain

Part of Foxconn's Wisconsin First commitment includes utilizing Wisconsin companies for its supply chain needs.  Foxconn has linked up with the Supply Chain Marketplace to select and source suppliers.  The first categories of supplier needs are plastic injection molding and metal stamping.  Plug into the online supply chain directory that enables companies to connect with suppliers and buyers and post RFPs at www.wisupplychainmarketplace.com.

Coming in September, sessions on supplier readiness plans will be held to inform suppliers and industries about display manufacturing, Foxconn's vendor evaluation process, business culture, and Industry 4.0.  More information will be available at www.wisupplychainmarketplace.com soon.
