Continuing to Reduce Wisconsin's Property Tax Burden

EU1

Our budget proposal delivers $574 million in tax relief to you, the hard-working people of Wisconsin, contributing to more than $8 billion in tax relief over eight years.

That’s real money for real people – money to save away for a rainy day, spend on a fun family vacation, or reinvest back into our economy.

Now is not the time to raise taxes. In fact, our budget proposal eliminates an entire tax – the state portion of your property tax bill. That’s right, for the first time since 1931, there will be no state property tax collected on your property tax bill.

We’ve come a long way. Before we took office, property taxes on the average home increased by 27 percent. Today, Wisconsin’s property tax burden is the lowest it’s been since 1946.

But there’s still more to be done, which is why our budget proposal takes important steps to continue lowering the tax burden on our taxpayers.

Together, we are Working and Winning for Wisconsin

HARIBO Investment a Golden Opportunity

Back in March, we announced HARIBO, the German-based confectionary company best known for their “GoldBear” gummi candies, has chosen Kenosha County as the location of their first manufacturing facility in North America.

Last week, I had the opportunity to meet with HARIBO Managing Partner Hans Guido Riegel to discuss this move. It was a great meeting, and I enjoyed talking with Hans about our mutual love of Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

Check out the awesome helmet he presented to me above and learn more about the impact this move will have on Wisconsin below.
