As your governor, it’s always great to hear from
you directly about the issues most important to you and the future of our state.
One such opportunity to
hear from you is our Facebook Live sessions. Yesterday, I hosted my fourth
Facebook Live event and had the opportunity to answer your questions regarding voter ID laws, Medicaid, student loan debt, and Wisconsin's workforce, just to name a few. Check
out the video above to learn more!
As we approach the next
state budget, your input is very important to us, and we will use your feedback
to shape our priorities for Wisconsin moving forward.
If you don’t already,
please follow our Facebook page or on Twitter @GovWalker to stay up-to-date on all the great things
happening throughout Wisconsin! We’ll continue to host these Facebook Live
events and will announce upcoming sessions regularly. Be sure to keep an eye out for the next one, and we encourage you to submit your questions on our Facebook
page here.
It’s easy to stand up for what you believe in when that
belief has strong popular support. It is much more difficult to do so in the
face of constant criticism. On Monday, we celebrated the inspirational life and
work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who did just that and refused to abandon
his ideals. He fought for tolerance and respect despite adversity because “The
time is always right to do what is right.”
His legacy lives on today and as a result of his efforts, our
nation is stronger. His courage, determination, vision, and commitment to peace
continue to inspire us to stand up for what is right as we strive to make our
communities, our state, and our nation, a better place to live.
To honor this incredible leader, we participated in two events commemorating the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., including the 20th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebratory Breakfast in Milwaukee and the 37th Annual State of Wisconsin Tribute and Ceremony in Madison. You can view the full 2017 Martin Luther King Jr. Tribute Ceremony here.
We also proclaimed Monday as The
Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day throughout Wisconsin. View a copy of the
proclamation below.
We enjoy sharing all the great news about our state with you. It is an honor to serve as your Governor and represent the people of Wisconsin.
Sincerely,
Governor Scott Walker
