Tonight, I will be holding a telephone town hall at 7:30
p.m., and I’d like to invite you to listen in.
Our goal is to connect with the people of Wisconsin, answer questions,
and hear about the issues that matter most to you.
To listen in tonight, be sure to click on the link below.
This year, the typical homeowner will see their property
taxes decrease by $116 compared to their bills in 2010. That means over six
years, their cumulative estimated savings is more than $1,700 when compared to
the previous four-year trend.
What does this mean for the homeowners of Wisconsin? Well, it
means a few extra dollars that can be tucked away for a rainy day, used for a
fun vacation, or reinvested back into the state’s economy. And over the years,
that money can really add up for the homeowners of our state.
Take Jeff, for example. Jeff lives in Waukesha and wrote to our office to say “my property tax bill went down significantly for
the first time in my life! I did not think this was possible!”
We’ve taken major steps to lower the property tax burden in
the past, and we will continue to prioritize ways to ease the tax burden for hard-working
Wisconsin families. Over the past six years, our efforts have put them first,
and looking forward, we will continue to do just that by holding the line on
property taxes in the upcoming budget.
On behalf of the great
state of Wisconsin, I would like to thank all the teachers and children who
created such beautiful ornaments for this year’s Wisconsin State Capitol Christmas
tree.
The unique ornaments created
truly captured the theme for this year’s tree, Wisconsin Wildlife, and serve as a reminder to all who visit our
Capitol of Wisconsin’s magnificent wildlife and natural beauty.
If you haven’t yet, be
sure to visit the Wisconsin State Capitol to see all of the creative ornaments
displayed on the Capitol Christmas Tree!
P.S. A few of my
favorites can be seen in the picture above!
We enjoy sharing all the great news about our state with you. It is an honor to serve as your Governor and represent the people of Wisconsin.
Sincerely,
Governor Scott Walker
