Governor Walker Joins Easterseals Southeast Wisconsin for Employment Partner Breakfast

Governor Walker receives the 2016 Easterseals Outstanding Advocate Award

Waukesha – Governor Scott Walker joined Easterseals Southeast Wisconsin members today for their Employment Partner Breakfast in Waukesha. The breakfast recognizes the organizations and businesses Easterseals Southeast Wisconsin partnered with in 2016 to provide employment opportunities and training for individuals with disabilities. At the breakfast, Governor Walker was recognized as a recipient of the 2016 Outstanding Advocate Award for his continued leadership in service to people with disabilities.

“We know Wisconsin’s workers with disabilities possess a unique set of abilities, and organizations like Easterseals are helping them utilize those talents in the workplace,” Governor Walker said. “Our heartfelt thanks to Easterseals and all of the employment partners here today for the incredible impact you have on the lives of individuals with disabilities, as well as their families. By giving Wisconsinites with disabilities the training they need to succeed in our workforce, we’re helping them earn a living wage while gaining confidence and critical job skills at the same time. That’s a win-win for our state. I also express my gratitude to Easterseals for the honor of receiving the Outstanding Advocate Award.”

Easterseals is a national organization that has been helping individuals with disabilities and special needs, as well as their families, live better lives for nearly 100 years.
