 Since 2008, the WDVA has annually recognized women veterans who with exemplary records as military service members, veterans, and community members.
Veterans, family members, friends, veterans service organizations, County and Tribal Veteran Service Officers, other veterans' groups, and anyone who knows an extraordinary woman veteran are encouraged to submit nominations to be considered in this year's process.
The Woman Veteran of the Year will be chosen by a panel based on the criteria outlined in the narrative portion of the application.
