The WDVA is now accepting nominations for Wisconsin Woman Veteran of the Year. The award is presented to a woman veteran who has compiled a record of exemplary service in her community.

REMINDER: Grant Applications for Nonprofits that Assist Veterans Due August 30, 2019

The WDVA is now accepting grant applications from registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that provide financial assistance or other services to Wisconsin veterans and their families

The WDVA is proud partners with more than 1000 community and non-profit organizations across the state, particularly through the Veterans Outreach and Recovery Program that help veterans with housing (homelessness), behavioral health, mental health, and financial and legal assistance, among other services. We encourage these groups and others who wish to join our network of organizations that provide services veterans and their families to apply.

WDVA Honors Community Partners at Wisconsin State Fair Ceremony

WEST ALLIS — The Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA) on Sunday, August 11, honored various organizations (see photos here) that have partnered with the agency to offer life-sustaining assistance to homeless and at-risk veterans across Wisconsin.

WDVA SECRETARY KOLAR APPEARS ON CAPITAL CITY SUNDAY

Secretary-designee Mary Kolar appeared on WKOW 27's Capital City Sunday. She spoke about the success of our Veterans Outreach and Recovery Program and how Governor Tony Evers' budget furthers the reach of our program across Wisconsin. Since April 2018, our VORP has aided nearly 1,000 at-risk veterans in our state with vital resources.

TRIVIA NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM

Trivia night
Come to the Wisconsin Veterans Museum on September 12 and test your trivia knowledge! Teams will work together to answer trivia questions or they can “call a curator” for help.  Happy hour starts at 6:30 p.m., with trivia to follow at 7:00 p.m.
