U.S. News: Wisconsin Veterans Homes Top Performing  

The U.S. News and World Report has rated four Wisconsin Veterans Homes, including three at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King, as Best Nursing Homes in its 2017-18 Nursing Home Finder. 

Only 15% of the 15,215 nursing home nationwide achieved this designation. For 2017-18, U.S. News recognized facilities as Best Nursing Homes that had overall ratings of 4.5 or greater (on a scale of one to five) and labeled them “Top Performing.”... See the ratings »

Veterans Day Events Pay Tribute to Veterans, Recall History

This Veterans Day, the Wisconsin Department of Veterans thanked and paid tribute to the men and women who have served our country and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of freedom and democracy at ceremonies and events at each of our three Veterans Homes.

Our Wisconsin Veterans Home at Chippewa Falls also hosted a black-tie Veterans Ball. The members enjoyed getting all dressed up and dancing the night away.. See photos from our events »

ICYMI: PET PROJECT PROVIDING HELP TO VETERANS

WLUK-TV Green Bay visited the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King to interview Joe McGlin, a Gulf War veteran from Clintonville who has been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder. McGlin is a member at King who is benefiting from interacting with Sophie, a therapy dog-in-training. Therapy dogs are known to assist those with a diagnosis of anxiety, depression or PTSD. Watch the interview and see Sophie in action for yourself!
