The WDVA is proud to announce that Jen Shaw, a social worker at our Wisconsin Veterans Home at King, has been named the Wisconsin Nursing Home Social Workers Association Social Worker of the Year.
Jen was chosen because of her work as exceptional social worker with a very difficult case load who is always working toward the best interest of her patients. Jen has taken on many innovative projects such as creating a namaste room where Veterans who have deficits can relax and have stimulation which is calming, but still keeps them engaged in their surroundings. She has led a pet therapy project for Veterans with PTSD, anxiety, and depression and it has made a huge positive impact in their quality of life.
“We are so proud of Jen and her commitment to serving our members,” WDVA Secretary Dan Zimmerman said.
