No Action Needed: Follow Up to Previous Notice

Please note: You are receiving this email as a follow-up to the previous notice sent earlier today. This was an informational notice only; no action is required on your part. For your reference, the initial email is below.

Important notice from the Cosmetology Examining Board

Good Afternoon,

You are receiving this email because you have an active cosmetology related credential.  DSPS and the Cosmetology Examining Board have received information that some credential holders have received fraudulent requests for various forms of payment related to their credential.

As a reminder, DSPS staff will only contact credential holders through a State of Wisconsin email address ending in ‘@wisconsin.gov’ and do not contact credential holders outside of regular business hours.  DSPS and the Cosmetology Examining Board do not utilize local law enforcement, such as a sheriff, to enforce Wisconsin State Statutes and Administrative Code governing the profession.

If you believe you have been fraudulently contacted, I would encourage you to notify your local law enforcement or the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, as appropriate.

If you have any questions related to your credential, you may call DSPS at (608) 266-2112 or email dsps@wisconsin.gov.

Thank you,

Vicky McNally

Chair, Cosmetology Examining Board
