Updated Well Driller Viewer Mobile Application
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is replacing the Well Driller Viewer Mobile-Friendly Map application that is in the ArcGIS Field Maps Mobile Application with a new web browser-based Well Driller Viewer application.
What is the change?
On May 30, 2025 the Well Driller Viewer Mobile-Friendly application will no longer be available in the ArcGIS Field Maps application.
Instead, well drillers can access the Well Driller Viewer on their mobile device using the current link. If this link is opened on a computer or larger tablet, it will open the desktop version in the user’s default web browser. If this link is opened on a mobile device or smaller tablet, it will open the new mobile version in the default web browser.
Why is this changing?
After receiving feedback from the well driller and pump installer community and DNR Private Water field staff, the Drinking Water and Groundwater IT Team determined that the new web browser mobile application offers a simpler way to access the application on any device (does not require installing a third party application) and has a similar look and feel to the desktop Well Driller Viewer that is already used by our well drilling and pump installing community. Our staff can provide better technical support as there will be only one way to access the mobile application versus the two ways currently. Based on feedback, we made improvements to the mobile version since the original release of the Well Driller Viewer on June 28, 2024.
When will this change?
The ArcGIS Field Maps application will be decommissioned on May 30, 2025.
The new web browser-based Well Driller Viewer mobile application is now available for your use. See the Helpful Tips below for this transition.
